Chaplet of Resurrection

Corona Resurrectionis

This is an original Easter chaplet composed for this blog as a way to contemplate the Resurrection in prayer.

It can be recited on a standard Rosary (i.e., five decades of ten beads).

~ Vignette ~

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen. Alleluia.

Credo.

V. Christus resurrexit, alleluia.

R. Resurrexit vere, alleluia.

Ant.

10x. Domine Iesu Christe, per divinam medicinam tuam a peccatis et imperfectionibus convalescere spero.

Oremus.

Amen.

V. Domine, exaudi orationem meam, alleluia.

R. Et clamor meus ad te veniat, alleluia.

V. Benedicamus Domino, alleluia.

R. Deo gratias, alleluia.

Gloria Patri.

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen. Alleluia.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Alleluia.

I believe in God…

V. Christ is risen, alleluia!

R. He is risen indeed, alleluia!

Ant. Behold, He who descended into the heart of the earth breathes again: behold, He who was washed with tears now gives to His disciples a new draught, a living hope. This is Jesus Christ, our Lord, the God of the living, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Follow Him in joy, O peoples, that you may draw abundantly from the fountains of the Savior, alleluia.

10x. Lord Jesus, through Thy glorious Resurrection, I pray for the conversion and salvation of souls.

Let us pray. O God, who hast broken the bonds of death: we are still held captive by sin. Destroy the tomb of our sloth and despondency, and in its place kindle the flame of faith – both in those who once knew Thee but have grown cold, and in those who have never known Thee; that we all, renewed by Thy grace, may live in Thee forever. Amen.

Ant. Behold, He who was made unconquered by death rends the veils of death: in the place of darkness and vast desolation a great light shines forth; and He who was so grievously afflicted now receives a glorious form. This is our Savior, the Lord Jesus, the New Man and the Firstborn from the dead, who shall never die again. Flee from error, O nations, and return to the flock of the true King: He alone is the hope of our immortality, alleluia.

10x. Lord Jesus, through Thy glorification, I profess the resurrection of our bodies and the life everlasting in glory.

Let us pray. O God, in the midst of the night, unseen by any, didst Thou return to life: yet the light of Thy Resurrection shines upon humanity even now, and none is like unto it. Receive the longings by which we reach out to Thee, and prepare a place for us in Heaven. Grant that we may so pass through this mortal valley that we may come to Thee acceptable and possess eternal life. Amen.

Ant. Behold, our God has risen, true Man as well: yet not as the old man, but as a new creation. In like manner, the old world shall one day pass away: it shall be changed, and shall rise again, and the Spirit of the Lord shall renew the face of the earth. For all creation groans and suffers, awaiting its deliverance – a new heaven and a new earth wherein truth and justice dwell. Let us also wait, crying out: how long, O Lord, until Thy coming in glory, alleluia.

10x. Lord Jesus, through Thy promises, I await the renewed, boundless, and eternal creation.

Let us pray. O God, who dost not delay, but dost bear with us sinners, awaiting the fullness of salvation: we humbly beseech Thee for Thy gift, which is above every gift – eternal life and the blessed vision of Thee. For we shall have no rest except in Thee, and no joy except that which is infinite. Amen.

Ant. Behold, the angels meet the disciples at the empty tomb: they have shown the strength of their arm, and rolled away the stone though it were dust. The proud guards are struck with fear, earthly power is cast down and trembles before the face of the Risen One. Let all the earth praise Christ at the dawn of the new era, alleluia.

10x. Lord Jesus, through Thy grace, I ask for the strengthening of Thy holy Church and for spiritual renewal.

Let us pray. Almighty God, Thou hast rejected an earthly kingdom, but hast established the heavenly Kingdom with power: stretch forth Thy might and look graciously upon Thy Church, for without Thee she can do nothing. Grant her the vigor of spirit and holy zeal; remove from her path all error and indifference, that through her all may see Thy glory. Amen.

Ant. Behold, the wounds of the Lord remain in His glorified Body: yet not as traces of evil and torment, but mystically transfigured into fountains of charity and light; no longer defects, but an adornment, adding glory to glory. Sing to the Lord, who alone can raise what is lowly in us to what is highest, and turn sorrow into joy: He is truly the Physician of our souls, alleluia.

10x. O Lord Jesus Christ, through Thy divine medicine, I hope to be restored from sin and imperfection.

Let us pray. O God, protect us from evil and lead us to good. Grant that our life may have a good course and a good end, so that even our wounds and sufferings in eternity may not be in vain, but may be transformed into glory. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, who didst descend from the bosom of the Father unto the earth and didst pour out Thy precious Blood for the remission of our sins: we humbly beseech Thee that on the day of judgment we may merit to stand at Thy right hand and hear: Come, ye blessed.

Thou who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.  Amen.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer, alleluia.

R. And let my cry come unto Thee, alleluia.

V. Let us bless the Lord, alleluia.

R. Thanks be to God, alleluia.

Glory Be to the Father.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Alleluia.
